Althou DDR2 800 will work that X38 board uses DDR2 1066 as standard ram so I'd use DDR2 1066 with that board. The prices you show are way too high. Go to newegg.com and save on the parts. Boards only 280 at newegg, hard drive's 95, video card's 355 etc etc. Look at this ram: Dominators even better than XMS and you can get 4 GBs of 1066 dominator for $51 less that youre paying for 4GBs of 800 XMS!!
