My car takes two or three times to start can anybody help?

i have a 1996 oldsmobile aurora and when i go to start my car in the morning or after i havent driven it over night or for a day it usually starts on the first try but through out the day wen i go 2 start it it takes two or three times to start but it always starts can anybody tell me what might be the problem.....and another ? is i haven got a oil change in a while and i need one badd just been broke but im going 2 get one 2day but the other day i went out side 2 start my car and it made a loud pop in the engine and smoke started 2 come out a few minutes later i tried 2 start it again and it started and every 2 or three days it will do that now is it because i need a oil change? and what is popping?...it has nothing 2 do wit how it takes me 2 or 3 times 2 start it has been doin that 4 a long time now

tune up, especially the fuel system, fuel filter may be clogged/restricted.

probably fuel pump or regulator or leaky injector. need fuel system tested for pressure and leakdown.
Sounds like you need a tune up, spark plugs, fuel filter. Is it fuel injection? Oil change would not cause the problem your having.
