Nice place to buy a home and live in Denver for a family?

My husband and I are presently living in Westlake, Ohio. Westlake, Ohio is really a beautiful and safe city and we absolutely love this place and we are looking to move to a place that is similar to Westlake.

Since my husband got a new job in Denver, CO we will be relocating to Denver in the next couple of months.

We would like to buy a new home in Denver. Could someone please suggest a good and safe area for families to live? Which are upscale areas/cities in Denver? Areas with good schools?

My husband's workplace is in Englewood, CO and we are looking to buy a property within 5 to 20 mins drive to his workplace.

Presently the areas we have shortlisted to look for a home are Aurora, Englewood, Centennial, Greenwood Village, Lone tree, Cherry hills village, Highlands Ranch, Littleton and Parker.

Your answers are greatly appreciated

I lived in Colorado for 11 years before returning to Ohio to retire. The prettiest place I ever lived was in Evergreen. Low crime, good schools, and a great address to impress everyone.

Cherry Hills is very upscale and expensive.

Aurora, Englewood, Centennial, Littleton and Parker are average, middle-class, ok places to live, but nothing to get excited about.

I don't know about the others you listed. Stay away from downtown Denver. High crime, especially at night.

Avoid having to drive through the Mousetrap (I70 crosses I25) to get to work. Lots of traffic, accidents, and jams.

Brace yourself for the high taxes.
