Computer lags on windows vista.?

I bought a alienware aurora 7500, had it bout 5 months now, it came with windows vista home premium. When i respawned/restored windows on the last time, it begun to lagg and/or freezing up, everytime you click on something it takes like 5 minutes to come up, and the computer doesnt respond at all. What is wrong?

Computer lags on windows vista.?liveupdate

Your specs are plenty for Vista. I would beging to suspect a hardware issue. I would peform a hard drive test.

Type the following into Start Search:

chkdks /r

And type Yes, and then restart.

Sorry, typo there. its CHKDSK /R Report It

How much RAM did it come with? If only 2GB, you need more for Vista. Find out what it came with, and how much you can add to it. If total of 4GB, I strongly recommend you do that. I have a PC with Vista and only 2GB and it runs okay, but I know adding RAM will make it zoom.
Maybe your computer's system requirements were inadequate. You need to buy High-end Hardware that will accommodate Windows vista
respawned? awaken from hibernation maybe? Reboot...from your writings it sounds like a program may of been running eg. defrag, search indexer etc and hung the system upon respawing...hth
what are the specs?

and did u make sure all the drivers were installed correctly?

also try to have as clean of a start up as possible
