I just got back from what I can honestly say was the worst buying experience i have ever been in. (Home depot next to the Costco in Aurora Village, in Shoreline). I got sh*tfaced really bad by the staff (which was almost non existent), their saw was broken, offered no help for me to get my 4 x 8 board to my car- which of course, it didn't fit, because the guy said their saw was broken. imagine that. A hardware store with no saw.
Anyways. I am really pissed off about this. This there any way I can get back at them? Legal of course, so no arson or vandalism.
Terrible customer service?norton
I worked at a Home Depot in North Atlanta area for a year, 2005. I had worked in marketing to banks and commercial accounts for 14 years, then mortgages, very successful at both with great people skills. You had to be extremely friendly, understanding, and knowledgeable in both industries.
Home Depot is a different animal. I continue to shop there but now understand their attitudes at times. You were not allowed to really show any form of personal attention as in being nice and friendly. You could not comment how nice someone looked, how well they were dressed, not even if a customer was knowledgeable about something telling him how smart they were. I was told Home Depot is an easy target for law suits over the simplest matters.
As far as equipment breakdowns, if you can repair but are not qualified, you're FIRED! Home Depot stores have qualified people for everything. What got me most you never knew who was boss. They have so many people in-charge you as a customer and me as an employee never knew who these people were at times.
