Denver Transportation help?

I want to move there some time in the next fall (08) %26 I hear theres not much bus service/light rail in the suburbs. I cannot drive because I have a debilitating disorder I won't discuss further without ridicule. I HAVE to take RTD to my job. Some1 told me the southern suburbs have some transit. Which ones are NOT ghetto like Arvada or Aurora %26 I can not be noticed. I don't want to live in Denver it's too loud %26 Lakewood would take forever although that's my favorite spot.

Any GOOD advice will help.

I want out of this Texas "TORTURE" lol.

Littleton and Englewood are nice areas, not too pricey like Highlands Ranch but close to them. The light rail is operational and easy to use, and it goes down to the University District, and buses can take you to the light rail station closest to you. I think that's what someone told you about.

The light rail circles around downtown Denver and goes down all the way to south Denver, past Highlands Ranch. It also branches into Littleton and then east towards the SE Denver area. See the map here: www.rtd-denver.com/LightRail

The RTD system has been expanding recently with a new southeast light rail line + added commuter bus service throughout the region. Another new service called FREX even offers transit service between Colorado Springs and Denver. I'd say Denver has become one of the best transit cities around, so good choice!
Most of Arvada (which is actually NW) and much of Aurora (which is actually E) are perfectly nice neighborhoods. They're pretty long commutes, though.
